Shewit was born in the northern region of Tigray. Like many 13 year old girls in that region, she fondly remembers her childhood as a time when she herded sheep and got married. But what do you think happens to a 13 year old girl who shows no sign of bleeding after her husband has sex with her for the first time? From there, Shewit bounces from one household to another until she decides to take matters into her own hands. It doesn't take long though before she gets distracted and lost in a sea of bad decisions, all because of one look back!
